Reporter’s Notebook: Anna Holligan

Good Morning Scotland

Available for over a year

With the collapse of the Soviet Union, the 1990s saw the former Yugoslavia descend into a bloody civil war, fuelled by ethnic and nationalist tensions. Two decades on, memories of the Balkans conflict remains raw and fresh among its victims and survivors, with the war crimes committed during it still being tried. In this week’s Reporter’s Notebook, Anna Holligan describes the conclusion of the trial of Ratko Mladić, a Bosnian Serb former general found guilty of committing crimes against humanity and genocide by the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague.
