Last week saw a memorial unveiled in Edinburgh to the Great Famine in Ukraine 85 years ago, referred to there as the Holodomor, or hunger-genocide. The ceremony was performed by Ukraine's ambassador to the UK, Natalia Galibarenko, and Bill Whiteford took the opportunity for an in-depth discussion with her about the Ukraine's current efforts to move closer to Europe, and further from Russia, but also Ukraine’s connections with Scotland.
