David Gray speaks to John Wilson about writing Please Forgive Me, from his 2001 album White Ladder. Written in just 40-minutes, Gray says he had tears in his eyes and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up: "This isn’t just me now, or in the past – this is me in the future as well".
