A former Facebook boss said he does not let his children use the social network. Chamath Palihapitiya, the former vice-president of user growth, explained that "he created tools ripping apart the social fabric of how society works". He recommended people take a "hard break" from social media. Palihapitiya did also say that the company "overwhelmingly does positive good in the world". His comments were first made at a Stanford Business School event in November but have only recently been reported. The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s technology reporter Zoe Kleinman briefly goes over the debate about social media networks and their effects on us.
