Mikheil Saakashvili was once the president of the ex-Soviet republic of Georgia. Then three years ago he upped and moved to Ukraine where he became a leader in the anti-government opposition. Last week, masked officers from Ukraine's security services tried to arrest Mr Saakashvili on suspicion of planning a coup d'etat. Their operation did not go according to plan, to put it mildly. In this week's Reporter's Notebook David Stern looks at an extraordinary week in an extraordinary life.
