At only 21 years old, and with only nine first-class matches under his belt, South Africa's Lungi Ngidi was picked to fill the shoes of his country's best ever bowler Dale Steyn, in the vital Test against India. A tall order? Not for Ngidi. The fast bowler took six wickets for 39 runs on his Test debut to rip through the India batting line-up and inspire South Africa to a series-winning victory. Ngidi came from humble beginnings, but his cricket career took off when he received a scholarship from Hilton College, a private boys' boarding school located 100km outside Durban. His coach and mentor was the former Zimbabwe cricketer Neil Johnson, who speaks of his pride at Ngidi's rise.
