How I found NASA's missing satellite

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Amateur astronomer Scott Tilley explains how he spotted the lost craft from "mission control" in his living room. The satellite had been missing since 2005. NASA had spent two years searching but had given up on ever finding it. There's now serious talk of restoring it to service. Tilley spends a lot of his spare time scouring the heavens from his home in Canada. “This is my hobby," he says. "My wife may roll her eyes but this is what I do for fun.” This clip is originally from 5live's Peter Allen and Caroline Barker on 4th February 2018.
