'Brexit will mean 15 mile Calais queues'

Today

Available for over a year

Deputy mayor of Calais Philippe Mignonet says that he estimates the reintroduction of customs controls at the French border after Brexit will lead to long queues on the motorway "24 hours a day, seven days a week". At the moment there are no border posts or custom checks in Calais because the UK is a member of the EU single market and customs union. Mr Mignonet argues that new customs controls on the border are only good news for illegal migrants. (Image: Calais border, credit: AFP/Getty Images)
