'Tougher' men make better jockeys

Today

Available for over a year

Racehorse trainer Henrietta Knight says she prefers male jockeys because horse racing is "tough" and "men are tougher". Knight says the sport does "require a lot of mental anguish" to which men are more suited. But she says women "make very good trainers". She adds: "[Women] have a tremendous amount of patience.. They're never in such a hurry as the men are. Horses react well to girls because of their patience."
