"It's so rewarding to feel people connect with the songs, even though they are so personal." Charlotte Gainsbourg on Rest

Lauren Laverne

Available for over a year

Charlotte talks about the freedom of living in a different place (New York) and the gift of being able to spend time in the studio with SebastiAn, writing her own songs for the first time. Following the death of her sister, Kate Barry, the experience of making Rest was "compelling". Although Charlotte was not initially concerned with pleasing others, or whether the songs were good enough, she found it ultimately very rewarding to connect with people through this album.
