Festival of Voice is back for it's second year between 7th June- 17th in venues across Cardiff. They have a huge line up - Patti Smith is headlining and performing an intimate 200 capacity spoken word show, there's also the world premiere of Gruff Rhys performing with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ National Orchestra of Wales who celebrate their 90th birthday this year. Headlining Wales Millennium Centre on the final day of the festival is Elvis Costello and The Imposters who will playing through his back catalogue. There's also lots of specially commissioned performances celebrating diverse voices from across the arts. Gwenno will present Edrica a live electronic audio/visual performance celebrating the life and work of patchwork pioneer Edrica Huws, the impact of motherhood on creativity, and the parallels between creating modern electronic music and patchwork stitching. There's also a theatrical piece by Camille O'Sullivan celebrating the work of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds with dramatic interpretations of his back catalogue. And on the first night of the festival is Billy Bragg and Nadine Shah with a special Voices of Protest evening at Wales Millennium Centre on 7th June.
