The company turning plastics back to fuel

The Real Story

Available for over a year

We're now producing 300 million tonnes of plastic waste a year globally. Plastic is contaminating our oceans and polluting our world. China used to take the bulk of plastic waste but it's now said enough's enough, and from this year, it's imposed a ban on all low-quality plastic imports. The ban is beginning to bite, leaving policy makers urgently looking for new options. One company, Renewlogy, says it has a solution. It has developed a means to reverse the process which creates plastics, thereby converting plastic waste back into fuel products. Carrie Gracie has been speaking to the company's founder, Priyanka Bakaya.
