Recovering after brain surgery

Health Check

Available for over a year

Adam, a vet from the UK, recently underwent surgery to remove a brain tumour. The low-grade glioma – nicknamed his second brain or the Homunculus – has been growing inside his head, very slowly, for ten or even twenty years. He talks to Claudia Hammond about how the surgery affected his confidence, memory and judgement. However, just a week after his operation, Adam says he is "definitely seeing gradual improvements".
