Bargain Hunt is coming to Newbury

Sarah Walker

Available for over a year

Bargain Hunt is coming to Special Auction Services near Newbury. The man on the rostrum that day will be the celebrity auctioneer Thomas Plant, and he told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Berkshire's Debbie McGee how he first became involved in the programme. Thomas Plant, Celebrity Auctioneer: "It happened a long time ago, about in the year 2000 actually. They came to my very first sale room I worked in and David Dickinson was the presenter, and my manager asked me if I'd like to do the auction. "I bought a new suit, and a new pink shirt. I was dreadful about all the items, I was so rude, I can't watch those programmes back. "The contestants have been desperate to come on the show, and over a thousand people apply in the week."
