Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyons (later the Queen Mother) married the Duke of York (who became George VI after the abdication of Edward VIII) in 1923. No sound archive exists of their wedding, but the future Queen Mother's biographer, Lady Cynthia Asquith. 'Through the wide open doors, it is as if those doors are letting in the spring.
