The nomination of a minister, who wanted Italy to abandon the Euro currency, which was rejected by President Sergio Mattarella, has prompted the coalition parties to abandon plans to form a government. Beppe Severigni, an editor at the Corriere della Sera newspaper in Milan, tells the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Russell Padmore the President has a duty to protect the Italian Constitution and a caretaker government will be formed prior to another election.
