This week sees a big celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the first Golden Globe around the world race. In 1968, Sir Robin Knox Johnston set off from Falmouth and became the first man to circumnavigate the globe non-stop and single handed. Since that voyage, he started the Clipper Round the World race which takes amateur sailors around the world. He also beat the round the world speed record with New Zealand sailor Peter Blake in 1994. Sir Robin has been sharing his memories with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Cornwall's Julie Skentelbery.
