Following a disastrous audition, young and graceless dancer Maya Angelou finds herself on stage in roaring San Francisco. In this dramatisation of Dr. Angelou’s iconic debut memoir, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, Maya is played by Pippa Bennett-Warner and the narrator (older Maya) by Adjoa Andoh.
