ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Minute: On Islam in China

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Minute

Available for over a year

Hundreds of Muslims took to the streets in Weizhou in Ningxia, China, to demonstrate against plans to pull down a mosque there. The local government said the building had been put up without the correct planning permission, but some suspect the attempted demolition is part of a wider effort to target religion in China. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Minute looks at Islam in China, where the constitutionally-enshrined freedom of religion is sometimes restricted in practice.
