Long Interview: Rebecca Stott

Good Morning Scotland

Available for over a year

The writer and academic Rebecca Stott’s memoir, the award-winning In The Days of Rain, is an account of her childhood growing up in the Exclusive Brethren, a highly secretive and separatist Christian sect. The religious movement, a large proportion of it in Scotland, went through turmoil in the sixties and seventies, just when the author was growing up. Bill Whiteford speaks to Ms Stott about her childhood in the fishing villages of south-east Scotland and her relationship with her father, who was prominent in the Brethren.
