Long Interview: Ross McEwan

Good Morning Scotland

Available for over a year

It is 10 years this month since the global banking system went into meltdown, precipitating a financial crisis that we’re still feeling the effects of. Royal Bank of Scotland was run by Sir Fred Goodwin at the time and was subsequently dubbed 'the world's worst banker' for his mismanagement of the institution. He was succeeded by Stephen Hester, and five years ago, by New Zealander Ross McEwan. In this week’s Long Interview, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ economics correspondent Douglas Fraser speaks to McEwan about the crash of 2008, controversies in the more recent past, Brexit, and unprecedented change in the way banks and customers behave.
