Why a smaller airline seat doesn't mean less comfort

Radio 4 in Four

Available for over a year

Airline seats have been made smaller over the last decade or so. The average size of a seat has shrunk by two inches. It’s led to complaints about comfort. According to the comparison website Seat Guru, some flights have seats as small as 28 inches, when they used to be four inches bigger than that on average. But does a smaller seat necessarily mean less comfort? Winifred Robinson finds out more. First broadcast on You & Yours, 5 September 2018.
