Gardeners who have been spraying with weedkiller for decades are now wondering whether it’s safe to use. It’s because the manufacturer of Roundup has been ordered by a U.S. court to pay millions of pounds in compensation to a school grounds’ keeper who developed cancer after using it. Even though Roundup in the UK is slightly different, the key ingredient – glyphosate – is the same. Should we be worrying about using it in our gardens and in farming? Shari Vahl introduces the report by Clare Worden. First broadcast on You & Yours, 13 September 2018.
