The Other Side - The One with Sarah Outen

Sportscene

Available for over a year

The Other Side is the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s first and only dedicated programme on LGBTQ+ individuals, organisations and groups in sport - and aims to show it's a place where everyone can feel welcome. Today's guest is, in anyone's book, a truly inspiring woman. Sarah Outen is the first woman to ever row solo across the Indian Ocean; the first woman to row solo between Alaska and Japan; a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society - and someone who has cycled, kayaked and rowed around the entire world. And even though she's got all those achievements under her belt, she still says her proudest achievement is her marriage to her wife Lucy. Got a story about being LGBTQ+ in sport? Why not drop us a message to jack.murley@bbc.co.uk, or Tweet @jack_murley. And if you enjoyed this episode, why note share it on social media so more people can hear the story.
