Experience an avian mass take-off from a Tunisian lake

Breakfast

Available for over a year

It's an autumnal dawn at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Lake Ichkeul in Tunisia. The freshwater lake is the last remaining in a chain that once extended across North Africa, and along with its surrounding wetland, it's a major stopover for hundreds of thousands of migrating birds. Hugh Miles made this ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ recording at the Sedjnana Delta, with its resident wildfowl of widgeon, mallard, Cetti's warbler and greylag goose. There's a mass take-off from the reeds, and you might even hear eagles call. This image of Bubulcus ibis in flight was taken at Lake Ichkeul by Elgollimoh.
