While working as a dancer in San Francisco, a young Maya Angelou is enchanted by a life-changing performance of Porgy and Bess. In this dramatisation of Dr. Angelou’s iconic third memoir, Singin' and Swingin' and Gettin' Merry Like Christmas, Maya is played by Pippa Bennett-Warner and the narrator (older Maya) by Adjoa Andoh.
