Sadie and Tricia - You Don't Know These People

The Listening Project

Available for over a year

Mum Tricia expresses her unease about daughter Sadie interacting with strangers online. Sadie is just 11-years old. She loves Japanese Manga comics and plays related multi-player games online. While she feels a real sense of camaraderie and community online that she doesn't always feel with her offline peers, she's also interacting with strangers, and this makes mum Tricia feel nervous. They discuss the necessary parameters to life online today, and why they need to be there... This conversation was recorded in collaboration with the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s 'Own It' campaign. Own It gives young people the tools to manage their lives online. You can find out more at www.bbc.co.uk/ownit . We also worked collaboratively with Plantation Productions. They are an arts and media charity based in Govan, Glasgow.
