Weaving faith throughout fiction

In the Studio

Available for over a year

Faith is important to Sudanese author Leila Aboulela and she often writes about Islam in her novels – her characters are not ‘complete’ until we know their values. After growing up in Khartoum, Leila has lived in Scotland for many years, and sees fiction as ‘a gentle way of passing on information’ about her religion to a non-Muslim reader.
