'My parents and I, we’re all undocumented'

Boston Calling

Available for over a year

Jin Park is a Harvard University student and an unauthorised immigrant, protected from deportation by an Obama era programme known as DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). Jin's immigration status meant that he was not eligible for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, but he applied anyway. As a result the Rhodes Trust expanded its eligibility rules, making Jin the first DACA recipient to become a Rhodes Scholar. (Jin Kyu Park said he hopes the changes made by the Rhodes Trust will give other DACA recipients hope that change is possible, even at long-standing institutions. Credit: Alex Newman/The World)
