On 7 July 2013, Andy Murray became the first British player to win a Wimbledon senior singles title since Virginia Wade in 1977, and the first British man to win the Men's Singles Championship since Fred Perry, 77 years previously. The Scot converted his fourth championship point in a dramatic final game against Novak Djokovic to win 6-4 7-5 6-4 and claim his second major title.
