Remembering Glasgow’s Empire Exhibition

Good Morning Scotland

Available for over a year

During 1938, Scotland played host to the Empire Exhibition, an international exposition held at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow, from May to December. The exhibition offered a chance to showcase and boost the economy of Scotland, and celebrate empire trade and developments, recovering from the depression of the 1930s. Despite being opened with great fanfare little of the original site remains. Bill Whiteford looks back to the events surrounding the exhibition and its impact.
