Manny Masih

Available for over a year

A Nepali mother and her two children are dead after she was banished to a "menstruation hut". She had lit a fire to keep her family warm in bitter winter temperatures. All three are suspected to have died from smoke inhalation. The traditional practice of exiling menstruating women from the family home is banned in Nepal but it is still widely practised in rural areas. Manjit Gill is the founder of Binti which works to ensure that all girls and women have menstrual dignity and explains why the practice is still going on in this interview with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ presenter Manny Masih
