The residents of the Good Shepherd Laundry were "people's dirty secrets", that's according to one Derry woman who became a resident of the convent when she was 11. Caroline McGee says she was institutionalised at just five years of age when she was first placed in Termonbacca, before going to the Good Shepherd. She's has been speaking with Teresa Craig about living life within the confines of a laundry.
