Reading FC: Gomes expecting lean transfer window

Weekend Kick-Off

Available for over a year

Royals boss Jose Gomes admits the clubs current financial situation is not good. Despite having an agreement in place to purchase Nelson Oliveira from Norwich, Gomes is not confident on bringing him in soon. "Our loan agreement gives us the chance to buy him," Gomes told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley. "In this moment our financial situation is not very good to buy anybody. "Everybody would like to keep him in the squad, he's a great player. "But in this moment we don't know if we are able to keep him in the squad or not." But Gomes does reflect that, realistically, the Royals are now safe from Championship relegation. "I believe, but mathematically we are not safe, so we must respect this fact. "We must try to make the best [effort] we can to achieve this mathematically safe position."
