World Business Report

Available for over a year

Everton became the first English Premier League club to play in East Africa two years ago and they will return in July, to play the regional champions, Kariobangi Sharks. Millions of soccer fans across Africa follow top English teams, creating an opportunity for the world's most lucrative league to expand its business. The Premier League has targeted new markets in Asia, but Everton also wants to build a following in East Africa. The club's commercial director, Alan McTavish, tells the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Russell Padmore about Everton's links to the region. (Picture: Everton players celebrating a goal. Visionhaus/Getty.)
