On the 12th of May 1994, the death of the Labour leader, John Smith, had a profound impact on British politics. Twenty five years on, the party’s former leader in Scotland, Kezia Dugdale has announced she will stand down as an MSP in July to join the John Smith Centre at Glasgow University. The Centre, which encourages young people to pursue their vision for change through politics, is chaired by Smith’s daughter, Catherine. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scotland’s Business and Economy Editor Douglas Fraser caught up with them both.
