The US Federal Reserve is America's central bank - charged with oversight of monetary policy, banking supervision and financial services. What we usually hear about the Fed, though, tends to centre on interest rates - one of the most important tools in the promotion of economic growth across the nation. And since Donald Trump secured the presidency, we're also heard a lot of criticism of the Federal Reserve - under the chairmanship of first Janet Yellen and then Jerome Powell.
