A heartwarming song by a musician with dementia

Breakfast

Available for over a year

Seventy nine-year-old Paul Harvey is a composer, pianist and retired music teacher who lives with dementia. Paul rose to international fame in June when video of him tinkling the ivories went viral on social media. Paul's son, Nick, has spoken movingly about his father's formidable talents and how music helps to keep him connected. This is a clip of Paul's song, Where is the sunshine?, recorded last weekend by Broadcasting House's Paddy O'Connoll and broadcasted in full on Radio 3 Breakfast. Paul now hopes to record the track with an orchestra as a charity single to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
