Cat Person: The short story of the #MeToo generation?

The Conversation

Available for over a year

Cat Person, a short story about dating by American writer Kristen Roupenian, went viral when it was released in 2017. What made it such a huge success? Kristen explains the plot and why she thinks it resonated with so many people: "It felt as though there was a collective sense of seeing old things in a new way. Things that had been acceptable suddenly didn't feel acceptable anymore... It was a hunger for a certain kind of conversation that the story facilitated."
