Lemn Sissay: 'They imprisoned me as a child'

Jo Good

Available for over a year

Lemn Sissay is one of our most loved poets and writers, awarded an MBE, nominated for a BAFTA and the official poet of the 2012 Olympic Games. Fostered as a baby and given the name Norman, Lemn spent most of his childhood with one foster family who he considered to be his real family, but that situation didn’t last. Lemn was kicked out of the home for stealing biscuits and he had to pick his whole life up anew as a teenager.
