Why do American's love the Great British Bake Off?

Sarah Walker

Available for over a year

The famous Great British Bake Off tent has returned to our screens with thirteen contestants battling it out. But while millions will tune in on Channel 4 later, the show is also a huge success around the world. In America for example the show draws huge audiences. Kevin Fallon, U.S Entertainment Journalist: "It is surprisingly popular over here in the US, it was a bit of a slow build and took friends, telling friends, telling friends. "The appeal is that it just feels so British, and it's an antidote to all the reality television shows we have over here. "It is an education in British cuisine for us over here."
