Front Row

Available for over a year

Derek Paravicini was born prematurely in 1979. An overdose of oxygen whilst in intensive care resulted in blindness and a severe learning disability. Derek’s condition also resulted in extraordinary ability. Derek plays the piano, learns pieces instantly by ear and performs incredibly complex improvisations. He’s an autistic savant. For ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Music Day, Derek visited Front Row with his teacher, Adam Ockelford, and performed a very special improvisation around The Archers' theme tune.
