Although these choral works are often overlooked, they contain music of great beauty. The Ave Maria is haunting, the Stabat Mater highly dramatic, the Laudi alla Vergine Maria is lightly textured and captivating, and the Te Deum is so fine that Verdi reputedly wanted the score of it to be buried with him!
