We return to the Primary school in Northfield, in a deprived area of Birmingham, that the World at One are following to see how staff and children are affected by the current funding shortfalls. Bellfield Junior School has gone down to a four and a half day week as a cost saving measure but it continues to invest heavily in pastoral care for its pupils and their families. Emma Jane Kirby has been spending time with the pastoral team at Bellfield to find out why the school needs to spend so much of its budget on offering things like emotional and behavioural support. Some aspects of Emma Jane’s report are upsetting. (Photo: Child's poster about music and emotions at Bellfield School, Birmingham Credit: Bellfield School)
