Kobe Bryant: NBA logo of late basketball star would be 'a fitting, passing of the torch'

Sport Today

Former NBA player Michael Cooper, who won five championships with the LA Lakers, thinks the NBA should replace Jerry West with Kobe Bryant's silhouette on their official logo. Fellow five-time NBA champion Bryant, 41, and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on Sunday. Jerry West is the man who discovered Bryant at a very young age and setup a one-on-one between Bryant and Cooper when he was just 17 years old. And Cooper believes having Bryant on the logo would be a fitting tribute to both men. Photo: The late Kobe Bryant, 1978-2020 (Getty Images)
