As a 15-year-old in the summer of 1963, Stephen Pound acted as 'gopher' to Stephen Ward during his trial. Towards the end of the trial, Stephen Ward asked Stephen Pound to collect a barbiturates prescription for him from Harrods pharmacy. It was those pills that Ward used to take his own life.
