The Hidden Landscape

Experience Classical

Available for over a year

The metaphor of discovery, and of an unknown landscape, is reflected brilliantly by LeFanu in this work. It opens with deep, distant sounds which gradually accumulate and come to the fore. The composer's use of suspensions of movement and shifting musical energy give the music a nervous tension. The music is short, tense, and atonal, which give the feeling of musical mystery and discovery. Composer: Nicola LeFanu Performers: ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Symphony Orchestra Conductor: Norman Del Mar Recording date: 07 August 1973 Date of broadcast: 07 August 1973
