Piano Concerto No. 1 in D flat major, Op 10

Experience Classical

Available for over a year

Prokofiev's First Piano Concerto is an incredibly short work, its single movement lasting only fifteen minutes. This is reflective of the fact that it was a homework assignment during the young composer's time at the St Petersburg Conservatoire. Despite its brevity, the concerto is full to the brim with a wide range of different musical ideas, which Prokofiev was skilled enough to work into a cohesive whole. Composer: Sergei Prokofiev Performers: ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Symphony Orchestra Performer: Khatia Buniatishvilli (Piano) Conductor: Kirill Karabits Recording date: 24 February 2012 Date of broadcast: 24 February 2012
