Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor, Op 30

Experience Classical

Available for over a year

This wonderful work has long been a favourite in concert halls, and not just of Rachmaninov fans. It’s a long and an extremely difficult work for the soloist, testing not just their technique, but their power and fitness levels! It’s a romantic rollercoaster of a concerto, with passionate and romantic melodies giving way to dazzling finger-work, orchestral fireworks, or passages of quiet contemplation. It gained even greater prominence and popularity after the 1996 film 'Shine'. Composer: Sergei Rachmaninov Performers: ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Philharmonic Orchestra Performer: Denis Kozhukhin (Piano) Conductor: Vasily Sinaisky Recording date: 08 December 2018 Date of broadcast: 28 January 2019
