The flat residents fighting cladding costs

Gina's Game Changers

Available for over a year

Three years on from the Grenfell Tower fire, many thousands of people are still living in high rise buildings with dangerous cladding. The costs of making private buildings safe have in many instances been passed onto flat owners - and some flats have been declared worthless. The government has released a Building Safety Fund of £1.6bn to help buildings over 18m, but some campaigners are concerned that the work is taking too long, and some buildings will not be eligible for funding. Gina and Nihal speak to activists and affected residents Rebecca and Ollie, and asks Conservative MP Bob Blackman - a member of the Housing, Communities and Local Government Select Committee - what can be done to help.
